15. Toy Manchester Terrier
Weighing less than twelve pounds, this is a true Toy version of the Standard Manchester Terrier. The Manchester Terrier originated in Britain when dog fancier John Hulme crossed a Whippet bitch with a noted rat-killing dog.
These energetic small dogs will still go to ground (chase quarry in underground burrows), which means they’ll enjoy participating in Earthdog tests. They’re also good at Obedience, Tracking, and Flyball.
Adventuresome little companions, they’ll have no qualms about exploring on their own if not kept carefully supervised.
They’re good with senior citizens and enjoy carrying on a “conversation.”
